New Beginnings

This is a time of year, when there are a lot of "new" things going on. A lot of people want to start fresh, wether that be in new relationships or their careers. I ALWAYS think of new goals that I want to achieve on New Years...or around the end of each year. I'm embarassed to say that I very rarely ever follow through with the goals that I have set. So, I ask myself why...why can I NOT achieve these goals? So because of frustration( and a little bit of bordom :) I looked up some information on goal setting. I found this little bit that I found when I googled "what is a goal" : "Long term achievements rely on short-term achievements. Emotional control over the small moments of the single day makes a big difference in the long term. One formula for achievement reads A= I*M[citation needed] where A = achievement, I = intelligence, and M = motivation. When motivation equals zero, achievement always equals zero, no matter the degree of intelligence. Simil...

'Tis the Season

I love Christmas Time. I love the music, I love the lights, the cozy feelings, and I am so thankful that I have the opportunity to celebrate the birth of our Savior. So thankful that I have family and friends to be with, to laugh with, to love with. I am so thankful for the bounty that my Heavenly Father has blessed me with. For a roof over my head, for food in my fridge and for the clothes on my back. I am so thankful for my husband, who I consider to be my greatest gift. I will be eternally thankful to my Heavenly Father for leading me to him. I'm thankful for the good man that he is. I'm thankful that I get to spend eternity with him. And lastely but most imporantly. I am thankful for my Savior. I'm thankful for His birth. I'm thankful for the example that He has set for me. I'm thankful to my Heavenly Father for sending Him to this earth. I'm thankful for His teachings, for His love, and for His sacrifice. I'm thankful for my life, and that I ...

The Attitude of Gratitude

So today I was looking through one of my Missionary Binders. I found a paper that we made up called " The Attitude of Gratitude". We would post this paper on our wall, and then each day write something funny or memorable. I have copies of the ones that we made. I cannot stop myself from laughing my HEAD OFF while reading them. One of my favorite ones that we wrote was when my companion at the time(Sister Hart) said to Elder Johnson while we were watching General Conference together " It's just a gobstopper Elder Jonnson, not an olypic sport". That was so funny! I'm sure most of you are like "what a weirdo", but it's times like that that I want to remember. SO, I've posted one in our kitchen on our cork board, and Richard and I are goin to start using it. You can write something funny, something that you're grateful for or whatever you like. The point is you're looking at the positive throughout the day, instead of focusing...

So much to be grateful for!

WOW...I haven't blogged in a while. I usually start most of my posts this way, don't I ?! Well, I wanted to post today mainly because something really inspiring happened to me yest, but first, let me back up and give you some background on the situation. I work for Truehope Nutritional Support. I work with people on the phones every day, encouraging them, and helping individuals with the struggles they may be having. We work with an amazing product called EMPowerplus. This product is a natural product, that pretty much takes the place of antidepressants, psychotropic meds. I work with people helping them to come off of those medications, and cross taper to the EMPowerplus. As a lot of you may already know, this can be a very challenging journey, especially when one is faced with depression, anxiety, bi-polar, etc. So, I work with individuals encouraging them to continue on the journey, and reminding them how just AWESOME they are, because THEY ARE! These people have so ...
