The Nick Pose

It all started back in 1996.  I became obsessed a fan of the Backstreet Boys.  My family conducted a service project/gift thingy mabober for Family Home Evening one week.  We each had to pick a name out of a bowl and do something nice for that person.

Well...my dad got my name.  You know what he got me???? My very first Backstreet Boys poster.  I had that poster pretty much until I left on my mission, when I packed all of my stuff up to put away.  I loved that picture.  I think that it was even more special because my dad bought it for me.  Anyhow, I have searched the internet high and low for this picture...and have come up almost short.  I found one picture that is similar.  Except for Nick in the poster my dad gave was standing up and the pose he did was more obvious.  Here's an idea for you:

So...fast forward to 2001 and I am now in ...serving a mission.  Call me whacky, weird or just plain loony but I loved to have fun when I was a Missionary.  I know that that was not the primary reason I was their, but honestly I believe that that is what allowed me to grow so many relationships.  

So...then I had this idea one day...I should take a picture of myself and others doing the "Nick Pose"...and it just kind of exploded from there.  I had so many people do the "Nick Pose" in pictures.  It was hilarious, and they probably thought I was a total nut job I was so awesome! haha


The funniest "Nick Pose" picture I think I took is put down below for you.  My companion and I were serving in Rexburg Idaho.  We were headed over to the Elders house to give them some Canadian Treats.  Then it was either the guy that lived upstairs, or some total stranger came up to us and started talking to us.  He was just being friendly, and was clearly not interested in talking Religion.  So my companion was like " we should totally do the Nick Pose" and I'm like..."oh ya".  So we did it.  As you can see we were laughing our heads off!!!

Magrath Days...

Well, as usual I've waited a long time to post something. Nothing really new or exciting has gone on, so I use that as an excuse I suppose. OF COURSE it's not a good excuse, but I use it as one none the less. Yest., was Magrath Days, and it was super fun! The parade was great. We sat with my parents and the Towells. After that, we had a nice lunch at my parents house, where everyone in the fam. was their. I was able to participate in something really fun in the afternoon. Back in November, 2008 our young womens class did a time capsule where we wrote letters to ourselves. Our teach at that time, also made a video of us during one of our activities. I must say, I was SUCH A DORK! But if that's the worst thing I can say, then I'm doing pretty good right?! Anyway, it was fun to read the words that I hoped for myself. Six Months...

I sure wish that I was better at this...but here I am 6 months later...oops! Well it was a super busy summer.  We put off doing any renos in our house and did outside renos.  Our project this year was taking down our old fence, and putting up a new one.  We unfortunately didn't get everything else done that we needed to. I'm sure we could have gotten the other projects done if money (which seems to ALWAYS be the problem right??!)   hadn't have been in our way! But oh well..I'm thankful that we got as far as we did.  This past week the weather started to get super cold, so I think that we're outta luck for finishing up anything else for outside this year. I am really excited.....because this is my favorite time of the year.  Richard and I make our Halloween Costumes every year(at least this is the 4th year) and it's been so much fun. This year we're dressing up as Mario and Princess Peach.  It's going to be great.   So we've got that on the

happy birthday to my man...

Happy Birthday Richard! Wow...THE BIG 29 lol! We are now the same age for SIX MONTHS! So as I sit here, on the couch with the streamers/balloons up, pancakes and bacon cooked(Richards favorite b-day breakfast), while Richard is still snoring away I can't help but think of how grateful I am for today. BECAUSE OF TODAY.... * We were able to meet on my Mission * We have been been "together" for 8 years * We have been married for 7 1/2 years * my life is compelte * our "someday" children will have the BESTEST FATHER EVER! * my life has been changed forever!! I love Richard, so much that it's nutso ...LOVELY! There have been so many GREAT THINGS happening right now in our lives, and I'm so excited for 2011 because I get to spend another year with Richard!
